UltrAspire athletes performs extraordinary at Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run

The Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run is the world’s oldest 100-mile trail race. Starting in Squaw Valley, California near the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics and ending 100.2 miles later in Auburn, California. Western States, in the decades since its inception in 1974, has come to represent one of the ultimate endurance tests in the world. With more than 1,500 dedicated volunteers, offering the sport’s oldest and most prized possession, a sub-30 hour finisher’s bronze belt buckle or a sub-24 hour finisher’s silver belt buckle, and owning 100 mile racing’s richest and most compelling history, Western States remains one of the undisputed crown jewels of human endurance.

UltrAspire, a leader in hydration and outdoor gear has built an extensive team of athletes and ambassadors. Western States has been considered an A-list race for much of the UltrAspire team consistently for years, and this year four UltrAspire athletes placed in the top 10 for the men’s and women’s category . Ian Sharman earned his ninth top-10 finisher medal placing fourth and Mark Hammond placed third for two years running. Amanda Basham earned a fourth place spot backing up her fourth place spot last year, and Cecilia Flori grabs a fifth place spot which puts her at two 100-mile debuts in the women’s top five.

UltrAspire is excited to work with athletes who push the limits of human powered sports further than ever. The athletes on the team have big plans for upcoming races and even bigger plans to improve with their personal A-list races in the years to come. “Our Innovation comes from need, and it comes from the need to perform better” Bryce Thatcher, CEO of UltrAspire says when asked about the inspiration behind product creation and innovation. Bryce wants to ensure that athletes and adventurers have the best gear to get the job done in the best way possible.

UltrAspire will continue to build their team of athletes and ambassadors all the while continuing their mission to create legendary designs and innovative concepts for adventurers.
